A Long History
Our shop has been trading in its current location since at least 1842 (the earliest record we have). The above document is an invoice from Duncan Stalker to one of his customers, dated 1849. Mr Stalker died in 1893 and the Mackay family took over the running of the shop in 1910 - finally acquiring the freehold of the property in 1968.
The current owners are Jo and Andrew Wallace, so no longer with the Mackays, but after 3 generations of Mackay ownership, it seems only fair to retain their name.

Where to find us
Mackay's Ironmongers is right on the harbourfront of Tarbert, Loch Fyne, next door to the pharmacy and Co-Op supermarket. The distinctive white building with black windows has been a feature of the harbour for a very long time!
